This was our special December 2007 Group Show . . . This year I'm showcasing a collection of work being made by up-and-coming artists from across the United States. This work exemplifies a playful inspiration that draws reference from the pop-culture of graffiti and graphic design. The ideas of fine art sculpture have been scaled down to produce unique handcrafted toys, and the notions of painting are being visited on objects like skateboards and vinyl records. In all, these works exemplify a highly stylized attitude to the process of creation and together they find resonance in their subtle incongruities. The wonderful whimsy and joy of these works is perfect for this time of year. |

As a commercial gallery I am please to be on the forefront of this new generation of artists, which is inspired by the graphic world and the designer toy world. Every generation works to find a venue in which to be seen and accepted. I invite the public, both young and not so young, to take a look at some wonderful making and some fresh ideas. |
